Situated four and a half miles from Omagh on the main Gortin Road, (see map) Slieve na Mon operates as seven interconnected units. This is made possible due to its unique design enabling the complex to be registered for varying client groups, including the frail elderly, functionally mentally ill, but focusing on the Elderly Mentally Infirm. All accommodation is ground floor, with easy access to several secure dementia friendly gardens. We have avoided institutional multi-stories with long corridors and instead our ‘links’ between cottages have interesting and stimulating activity centres and outside views: dining rooms and sitting rooms are on a similar homely and domestic scale.
En-suite rooms are available and as care is based around each persons individual needs, our experienced staff decide on the most appropriate area within the care centre which best serves these needs. We appreciate the diverse but individual and intimate requirements of our residents, and feel these are addressed by providing the optimum environment coupled with the best practice from our team of managers, nurses, carers, kitchen and domestic staff; the team all work and communicate in unison, with the residents’ interest the priority.
