JOB SUMMARY

Full time & Part time hours available

The Role of the Care Assistant:

To provide care for our residents/patients under the guidance and supervision of the Home Manager and trained Nursing Staff and to promote positive holistic physical psychological and social well-being.

You will be assisting and promoting wellbeing, independence, and social engagement. 

To help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional care and support for our residents. 

 

About You

You will need to be compassionate, caring, and motivated. 

You will have an understanding of the concerns and issues regarding the care of those with dementia or mental health disorder.

 

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of caring for elderly people in a formal setting is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

You will have good oral communication skills.  Ability to communicate with patients/residents, colleagues at all levels of seniority and families/visitors.

You will have good interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness 

All our staff are team workers and you must have good team working skills and an ability to work with minimal supervision when required.

Availability for shift work that will include 12hr shifts days/nights, weekends and public holidays.

 

General Responsibilities

To achieve and maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

To be aware of mandatory training/ EVO Learning also training dates/ schedules and to participate actively in training sessions, especially those required by RQIA and NISCC.

To maintain accurate records, including the completing of food and fluid intake charts and other daily monitoring records as directed.

To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards patients/residents and other staff members, recognising the importance and benefits of respect & effective team working.
